Karen Ruth Gott, 61, of Old Town, passed away peacefully March 29 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Bangor, Oct. 18, 1953, the daughter of Edward and Joan (Littlefield) Gott.
Karen graduated Old Town High School, and The University of Maine, where she was an All Maine Woman and a member of Chi Omega sorority. She moved to mid-coast Maine 18 years ago and worked at Damariscotta Bank & Trust in Warren as the branch manager. Karen loved to plan family get-togethers, nothing was more important to Karen than her family. She was an active participant and fundraiser for cancer charities of Maine.
Karen was predeceased by her father, Edward Gott Jr.; sister Brenda Arsenault; niece, Katie Arsenault; and grandparents, Rolfe and Ruth Littlefield, and Edward and Valma Gott.
Karen is survived by her mother, Joan Gott; siblings, Edward and Debbie Gott, Susan and Dan Perkins, Lauree Gott and Becky Bubar, and Marty Arsenault; nieces and nephews, Jamie Arsenault, Betsy and Fred Follansbee, Ted and Nina Gott, Daniel and Katie Perkins, Nathan and Sarah Perkins, and Amanda and Brent Kinchen; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Sat., April 4 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Mon., April 6 at the Stillwater Federated Church and light luncheon will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer charity of one’s choice.
