Keenan R. Jones, 53, of Waldoboro, died Feb. 12 at his home. He was born March 6, 1964 in Racine, Wis. to John D. Jones and Anne C. Pinkney. He graduated from Medomak Valley High School class of 1982. After high school he earned an associate degree in marine engineering.
He worked for over 30 years in the marine industry, and was known as the guy you could count on to fix anything on the barges and tug boats he worked on.
He was a talented woodworker, and owned his own woodworking business. He wrote poetry over the years that his family enjoyed greatly. He was an aficionado of rock-n-roll music. He was a very passionate person who loved his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors, and was very knowledgeable in astronomy. He enjoyed showing his family and friends all of the different star formations.
He also enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics and loved watching them with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Katie Stevens; and brother, Kent Roberts.
He is survived by wife, Colleen Jones of Waldoboro; son, John Jones of Waldoboro; brothers, Jay Jones and companion Bernice Geiseman of Warren, and Jeff Roberts and wife Barbara Hyle of Largo, Fla.; sisters, Allison Andrade and husband Mitch of Washington, and Jenny Jones of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 4-6 p.m., Sat., Feb. 17 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A service to celebrate Keenan’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Sun., Feb. 18 also at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery in Waldoboro.
