Kelley Patricia Devereaux, age 71, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Kelley was born in Lewiston on July 5, 1952, daughter to Lawrence Arthur Griffin and Diane Amerilys Devereaux.
She was a lifelong resident of Maine, growing up in Damariscotta and Lewiston. She graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1970, and became a licensed practical nurse after graduating from CMVTI in 1985. She went on to become a registered nurse in 1996 after graduating from CMTC. She spent much of her career at Central Maine Medical Center before becoming a home-based caregiver, prior to retiring in 2020.
Kelley loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to learn about the unknowable aspects of the world, amusing herself with science-fiction and folklore, and enjoyed tales of Nessie-sightings or other worldly contacts.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Strangfeld, of Wiscasset; and her sisters, Linda Whitebear, of Bremen, Candice Heydon, of Damariscotta, and Jannan Greene, of Nobleboro; her children, Jennifer Gosselin and Justin Spaulding, both of Lebanon, Tiffany Bergeron, of Lewiston, Jonathan Gilbert, of Windham, and Nathan Gilbert, of Sumner, and their families; her 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Kelley was predeceased by her father, Lawrence “Larry” Griffin.
The family will hold a celebration of life at the home of Nathan Gilbert at 180 Barrows Road in Sumner, on June 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Kelley’s name to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
