Kenneth (Ken) S. Grant, 87, of Trevett, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Barters Island on June 10.
He was born in Bath, Nov. 1, 1920, the son of Sydney and Amy Barter Grant.
After attending Boothbay Harbor High School, he enlisted in the Army, serving from 1942 to 1946.
He worked for several years at J.F. Hopkins in Gardiner, Merle Hyson trucking of Boothbay and the State of Maine Dept. of Transportation, from which he retired.
His favorite interests were watching wrestling and NASCAR on television and feeding the birds. His sons always kidded him about the wrestling being fake, but they never convinced him of that.
He was predeceased by his wife Marlene Andrews Grant in 2004.
Survivors include children, Kenneth, Jr. and wife Peg of Wiscasset, Richard (Ricky) and wife Sharon of Boothbay Harbor, and Londa Dunbar and husband Duane of Boothbay Harbor; grandchildren, Shanna Davis and husband Matt of So. Portland, Amy Grant of Boothbay Harbor, Kathleen Dikus and husband of Uley, Fla., Corey Hyson of Boothbay Harbor, and Kristy Hyson of Boothbay Harbor; sister, Evelyn Hyson of Boothbay Harbor; brothers, Clayton Grant of Trevett, and Russell Grant of Boothbay; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was June 13 at Oceanview Cemetery in Boothbay.
