Kenneth “Roy” Giles, 80, of Boothbay, passed away Aug. 25 at his home.
Roy was born Oct. 22, 1930 in Boothbay, the son of the late Milton Andrews Giles and Lena Campbell Giles.
He attended local Boothbay schools, later working for many years as a construction worker for his family’s company, Milton Giles & Sons. He retired in 1991. He loved nature and spending time in the outdoors. He also enjoyed walking his dog, “Kane.”
He was predeceased by his parents and son, Milton A. Giles, who died in 1983.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Josephine “Josie” Giles of Boothbay; stepson, Michael Bradshaw of Nottingham, England; stepdaughters, Josephine John of Watertown, Conn. and Justina John-Taylor of Boothbay; sister, Evelyn Giles of Boothbay; brother, Carlton Giles of Boothbay; and step-grandchildren, Chelsea Haggett of Wiscasset and Trevor Kistenmacher of Collegeville, Penn.
Graveside service to celebrate Roy’s life 3 p.m., Fri., Sept. 9 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Barter’s Island Rd., Boothbay with Rev. Al Roberts officiating.
