Lamar Mervine Seiders, 95, lifelong resident of South Bristol, died May 19 surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 11, 1917 to Lou Lou and Daniel Seiders.
Lamar was a hard worker all of his life. He was well known for the many beautiful homes he built and for his caretaking of homes around Lincoln County.
He was a 50-year member and past Junior Grand Warden of the Masons, Alna Anchor Lodge #43.
Entertaining and visiting with his family and friends was very important to Lamar. He also loved taking care of his cat, Kitty Baby.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Wade Seiders; twin brother, Claude; brother, Daniel; and sister, Ferne.
He is survived by sisters, Grace Redfield and Cora Williams; children, Claudia Shaw, Dwayne Seiders and companion Louisa, and Pam Davis and husband Leigh of Boothbay; grandchildren, Brenda Eaton, Tom Dodge, George Dodge, Tristam Dodge, Heidi Marcotte, Jacob Dodge, Paul Davis, Ben Davis, Jessica Leeman, Jenny Pendleton, and Jason Seiders; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many neighbors and friends.
A graveside service for immediate family members will be held 11 a.m., Sat., May 25 at the West Bristol annex cemetery. A celebration of Lamar Seiders’ life will follow at noon at the South Bristol Union Church Parish House. All are welcome.
