Larry E. Davis, 61, of Thomaston, passed away March 7 at his home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1945 in Warren, a son of Edward C. and Beatrice L. (Merrifield) Davis.
Larry loved working in the woods and was a skilled cabinetmaker. He enjoyed tinkering on cars.
He was a member of Merritt-Winslow-Holbrook American Legion Post #1 in Rockland.
Larry was known as a comedian and loved to tell jokes. He was an avid reader and did well in history and math. He loved “oldies and goodies” music and dancing. He was an all around good guy.
Larry is survived by his companion, Wanda Stoughton of Thomaston; daughter, Kelly and husband Shawn Waltz of Waldoboro; grandson, Joey of Waldoboro; siblings, Carroll L. Davis of Cheshire, Conn., Craig A. Davis and companion Joyce of Rockland, Harvey W. Davis and wife Rachel of Rockland, Terrance O. Davis and wife Judy of Warren, Dwight A. Davis of Thomaston, Kim A. Davis of Rockland, Louise A. Chapman and husband Jerry of Pittston, Delores Rahkonen and husband Neil of Rockland, and Lisa King and husband Wayne of Nobleboro; brother-in-law, Isaac G. Young of Cushing; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Edward Leroy Davis; sister, Darlene Young; and niece, Amanda Young.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of his family.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Warren.
