Larry Wilbur Winchenbach, 57, passed away peacefully on Nov. 29 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, following a long illness, with his loved ones by his side.
Born March 8, 1950 in Damariscotta, he was a son of Ralph and Beatrice Genthner Winchenbach. He attended Waldoboro schools.
The majority of Larry’s working life was spent working for himself in the fishing industry, clamming and scalloping. He loved being on the open water and he loved animals of all kind. He will be remembered as a fun-loving person who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Winchenbach and sister, Veronica Winchenbach.
Survivors include his wife, Abigail Harris Winchenbach of Waldoboro; mother, Beatrice Winchenbach of Waldoboro; son, Larry Warren Winchenbach of St. George; brothers, Eugene, Ralph, Allen, Monty and Dale Winchenbach, all of Waldoboro; sisters, Linda Winchenbach of Warren, Charlene Boyington of Waldoboro, Sandra Soule of Waldoboro, Patricia Isabel of Waldoboro, Beatrice Quintal of Waldoboro, Darlene Greacin of South Thomaston, and Muriel Winchenbach of Bath; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and pet bird, Mango.
Gathering and visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Tues., Dec. 4 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Patricia Winchenbach Isabel, 300 Ralph Wink Rd., Waldoboro, ME 04572 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
