Laura M. (Briggs) Hoover, 57, of Jefferson, passed away May 2 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Augusta on Oct. 5, 1954, a daughter of George and Madeleine Briggs. Laura had been employed at Ames Department Store and at Wal-Mart.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Hoover of Jefferson; children, Robert Perry, Christopher Perry, Michael Perry, and Erica Perry; brothers and sisters, Robert Briggs, Patrick Briggs, Donald Briggs, and Linda Irving; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
