Lawrence (Lonnie) Lane, Sr., 72, of Nobleboro, passed away Feb. 25 with his loving family and friends by his side.
He was born Feb. 12, 1937 in Bristol, the son of Perlie and Flora (Morton) Lane. He attended schools in the area and graduated from Bristol High School in 1957.
He served his country from 1960 to 1962 in the Army’s Battery B 15th field Artillery Battalion 2nd infantry in communications.
He married Maxine Lois Donnell on March 7, 1964. They then moved to Nobleboro where they raised their two children. He worked as a fisherman, then for VAST in South Bristol. He went to his true calling as a lobsterman in the late 60s until he retired in 2003 to take care of his loving wife.
Lonnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a Brother in the Masonic Lodge #74 in Bristol as well as a member of the Pemaquid Fishermen’s Co-op until his retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents, Perlie and Flora Lane; brothers, Manley, Floyd, Guy, Perlie, Jr., and Almon; and sister, Louise Young.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years; daughter, Lisa Lane Legere and husband Randy of Lewiston; son, Lawrence “Larry” Lane, Jr. and wife Myra of Nobleboro; grandchildren, Aric and Kasey Howard of Lewiston, and Brittany and Hillary Lane of Nobleboro; great-granddaughter, Aubree Isabella Howard; brothers, Russell Lane and wife Sandra of Bristol, and Lyndon Lane and wife Elizabeth of New Harbor; sisters, Hazel Genthner and husband Herman of Bristol, and Florence Elliott of Round Pond; sisters-in-law, Katherine Lane of Damariscotta, Marie Lane of New Harbor, Nancy Lane of Bristol, Charlotte Lane of Brewer, and Lois Vannah of Nobleboro; special brother, Roger Donnell of Caramel; many nieces and nephews; and special pets, Toby, Chloe and Puff Daddy.
Services will be announced at a later date and time.
