Leah Phoebe (Nash) Nadeau, 86, passed away Dec. 22 at the Heritage Rehabilitation Center, Winthrop.
She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Port Clyde, the daughter of Willie Walter Nash and Hattie (Blake) Nash. She attended Rockland schools.
Leah worked at the sardine factory in Rockland, Ramdell’s and Van Balen’s sewing, which she enjoyed.
She loved to sew and was a home seamstress. She was known for her clothing, and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.
She married Francis Nadeau on May 12, 1942. They made their home in Wiscasset where they raised their children, and where Leah continued to be a homemaker and loving wife to her husband, Francis.
Leah and her husband enjoyed traveling in their Winnebago motor home to Florida in the winter, and as well as camping and fishing. She enjoyed cooking homemade baked beans and ham, and if she knew the family was coming to visit, she would always have a pot of beans in the oven.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her. Her family wants to thank the staff at the Heritage Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care of Leah during her stay.
