Leanne S. Young, 46, of South Bristol, passed away at her home early on the morning of July 9. The daughter of Shannon Gilbert and Beth Farrin, she was born Nov. 7, 1959 in Damariscotta.
Leanne attended local schools. She loved her home, husband, children and grandchildren. She was known as a free spirit, having grown wonderful strawberries, and she loved art of all types. She was also known for her giving nature, where everyone was always welcome into her home.
She leaves her loving husband, George Young of South Bristol; parents, Shannon Gilbert of Boothbay and Beth Babine of Warren; five sons, Jamie Young, Edison Young, Michael Young of South Bristol, Danny Young of New Harbor, and Adam Young; sisters, Lauri Fitzpatrick and Lynn Drisco, both of New Harbor; brother, Darren Gilbert of Bristol; and many grandchildren.
Her son, Craig, and brother, Shannon “Buddy” Gilbert, predeceased Leanne.
Service of honor and celebration 10 a.m., Wed., July 19 at the former home of Walter and Velma Gilbert, Spring St., Christmas Cove.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
