Lena E. Hamrick, 88, formerly of Webster County, W. Va. and a long time resident of Round Pond, passed away March 17 at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta after a long illness. She was born on Feb. 5, 1920, a daughter of the late Patrick Duffy Hamrick and Mary Martha Sycafoose Hamrick.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, John A., Sylvester P., and Herbert Hamrick; and three sisters, Shella Bright, Madeline Dauphinee, and Malinda Stump.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Carr of Thomas; two granddaughters, Alisa (and Chuck) Paugh of Thomas, and Lori (and Gil) Reynolds of Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Holly Paugh of Clarksburg, and Aaron Paugh of Thomas.
Lena was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a retired cook, a longtime caregiver to her ailing sister, kind, funny, giving, loved the Lord and her family. She will be greatly missed.
Graveside services 11 a.m., Fri., March 21 at Davis Cemetery, with Rev. Allen Schwartz officiating. Internment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
