Leon M. Johnston, 81, passed away Feb. 26 at his home in Jefferson.
He was a dairy farmer in Jefferson for most of his life.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Wright; and brother, Donald Johnston.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth T. Johnston of Jefferson; daughters, Nancy Abbott and husband Leigh of Jefferson, Donna Witham of Jefferson, and Linda Peaslee of Windsor; sons, Leon O. Johnston and wife Terry of Jefferson, Alan Johnston and wife Becky of Jefferson, and Wayne Johnston of Jefferson; brothers, Richard Johnston of Jefferson, and Erland Johnston of Jefferson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a country music memorial tribute to celebrate Leon’s life 1 p.m., Sun., July 8 at the Broken Acres Family Retreat in Jefferson.
Burial will be private in the Pierpont Cemetery in Washington in the spring.
Further service information will be announced at a later date.
