Léontine Mary “Mimi” Bobillot, 84, of Waldoboro, died peacefully on Jan. 5 at Miles Memorial Hospital, where according to her family, she received extraordinary care.
Born in Croydon, England, May 8, 1923, she was the daughter of Henri E. and Elsie Johnson Ranwez.
On March 22, 1952, she married Denis Charles Bobillot in Aubersville, France.
For several years, she worked as a secretary in the health care profession. Moving to the United States with her daughter in 1971, she made her first home in Port Clyde and later resided in Rockland for several years. Mrs. Bobillot worked at Sylvania GTE in Waldoboro and later at National Sea Products in Rockland, retiring in 1985.
A voracious reader, she also was a wonderful cook, specializing in French cuisine. Having made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bobillot was like a second mother to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Bobillot was predeceased by her husband in 1981; sister, Elsie Hupper in 2007; and brother, Jean Ranwez.
She is survived by her only child, Laurie D. Randolph and husband Kenneth of Waldoboro; brothers, Eugene Ranwez and wife Henriette of Canton, Ga., and Henri Ranwez of France; grandchildren, Danielle L. Randolph of Jefferson, and Nicholas B. Randolph of Waldoboro; and nephews, Alain and Kathy Ranwez and children Jennifer and Danielle of Arvada, Col., and André Ranwez of France.
At Mrs. Bobillot’s request, no services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the healthcare foundation of one s choice.
