Lessie Mary Lloy, 79, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on May 24 after a long illness at Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Augusta. Lessie was born on May 18, 1937 in Somerville to the late Charles and Mildred (Erving) Crummett.
Lessie attended Somerville School and Erskine Academy. She then went on to work at Country Manor Nursing Home, Sylvania and then worked with her husband George (Earl) running their country store, Sunny Acre Tea Room in Jefferson. Lessie then decided to stay at home and be a full time mom to her children. For over 30 years Lessie made and sold hundreds of Christmas wreaths from her home. She also spent many summers raking blueberries with her children.
Lessie was predeceased by her husband George Earl (Ward) Lloy; and brothers, Clyde, Clifton and Orrin.
She is survived by son, Dewey and wife Sharon of Raymond; daughter, Dedre and friend Dave of Jefferson; sisters, Ethel Bartlett of Jefferson, and Arlene Grotton of Windham; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., May 27 at Sand Hill Cemetery in Somerville.
