Liezel Juntura Dualan, 31, of Wiscasset, died Feb. 9 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, with her family by her side, after a long courageous fight with cancer. She was born on July 16, 1978 in the Philippines, the daughter of Efren and Ninia (Belgar) Juntura. In 1993 the family came to the United States and settled in Belfast, where she graduated from the Belfast Area High School, the class of 1996.
Liezel married Joel Dualan on July 31, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nev. and made their home in Wiscasset.
She worked for the past five years at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Liezel loved life and lived everyday to the fullest. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and making them smile. She also loved gardening and had a passion for cooking and showed it during special occasions, the holidays or just a simple get together.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Lyanne Jasmine Dualan.
Liezel is survived by her loving husband, Joel Dualan; son, Joshua, both of Wiscasset; parents, Efren and Ninia Juntura; sisters, Donna Juntura, Eloisa Juntura, and Danica Juntura; brother; Nathaniel Juntura and wife Cristina, all of Waldoboro.
Visiting hours Feb. 14 at the David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. Mass of Christian burial Feb. 15 at All Saints Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 144 Lincoln St., Bath.
