Linda A. Sidelinger Rogers Genthner, 93, of Nobleboro, passed away April 24 at her Nobleboro home.
Linda was born in Nobleboro, March 20, 1914, a daughter of Burton and Helen German Sidelinger. She attended Nobleboro Central School and Lincoln Academy.
On May 1, 1933 she married Varnum Rogers and together they moved to Readfield and had four children: Varnum, Jr., Francis, Alice, and Shirley.
In 1947, Linda returned to Nobleboro with her family where she finished raising her children. She always kept in close contact with them even after they left home to have families of their own.
Linda married LeRoy Genthner of Friendship. She lived in Friendship with him and his four youngest children, LeRoy, Jr., Rodney, Phillip, and Brenda, for several years. When her daughter Shirley became very ill, she cared for her until she passed away. In 1982, Linda returned to her little house in Nobleboro to live out her last days.
She enjoyed getting together with family and friends, playing Parcheesi, Scrabble, Yatzee, Dominoes, and putting puzzles together. She enjoyed her birds, plants and her flower garden. She enjoyed looking through old photos and talking about old times.
She was a member of the Jehovah Witness congregation in Edgecomb. Linda was a good faithful servant for Jehovah God, and had many friends.
She was predeceased by her two daughters, Alice Seiders and Shirley Ethier; and one great-grandson, William Grover.
Survivors include her sons, Varnum Rogers Jr., and Francis Rogers; grandchildren, Kuniko and Tom Elliot, Tina and Mike James Rogers, Carol and Thomas Jobe, Elly Rogers, Gordon Rogers, Amy and Dan Bixby, Alice and Sheldon Rendmeister II, and Dean Seiders; 16 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was laid to rest with her daughters at the Dunbar Cemetery in Nobleboro.
