Linda Dorothy Buring, 70, of Whitefield, died April 3 after a brief illness surrounded by her husband and children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful example of faith, strength and determination.
Linda was born on Oct. 27, 1943 in Schenectady, N.Y. and attended school in Ballston Spa, N.Y. She married Michael Buring on Sept. 18, 1965 and they had three children, Christine, Jon and Michael.
Linda was an avid reader and volunteer at libraries in every city she lived. Her generosity and care was expressed as her time as a hospice volunteer.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Viola (Heckler) Melber.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Christine and husband Wayne Bower of Breinigsville, Penn.; sons, Jon Buring and wife Amy of Lugoff, S.C., and Michael of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Amanda of Garner, N.C., and Michael and wife Corlyn; and great-grandchildren, Raylen and Asher of Elgin, S.C., Steven of Lugoff, S.C., and Zoe of Lugoff, S.C.; sister, Carol (Melber) Parker of Little Falls, N.Y.; and brother, Irving Melber of Spring Hills, Fla.
A memorial service will be planned for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Orefield, Penn. and announced at a later date.
