Linda Jean Barschdorf, 57, of Edgecomb passed away at her home on March 12, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Glenburn on Oct. 26, 1949, the daughter of Fred and Sue Pinkham.
She was educated mostly in the Kenduskeag and East Corinth schools.
She married Dana Owen Barschdorf on May 17, 1983.
She worked many years in several shoe factories, until moving to Edgecomb in 1984. She worked as the housekeeper/manager at the Boothbay Harbor Inn and then as manager of the Boothbay Harbor laundry, where she was employed until her illness.
She was very creative with sewing and beaded jewelry. She spent countless hours in her garden and looked forward to the peaches from her peach tree. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her fried chicken. She had two “special felines,” Frank and Wilbur.
Her true passion was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Dana Barschdorf of Edgecomb; daughters, Kimberly Martin and husband David of Biloxi, Miss., Ms. Jere Brannen of Edgecomb, and Tonia Clark and husband Nate of Dresden; son, Harry Pierce of Gardiner; stepchildren, Leanne Nichols and husband John of Yarmouth; Darrin Barschdorf of Austin, Tex., and Heidi Lacasio of Lisbon Falls; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four brothers; a half-sister; and two special aunts, Louise Ward and Anna Pinkham, both of East Corinth.
At the deceased’s request, there will be no period of visitation.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
