Lloyd G. Merrill, 77, of Woolwich, died June 8 at his residence.
He was born in Bradley on March 3, 1935, a son of Lloyd H. and Evelyn (Garland) Merrill.
He attended Bradley, Dresden and Woolwich schools. On April 28, 1956 he married Louise May Stilphen and resided in Woolwich. He was employed at Kennebec Coal Company in Bath. He then was employed at Bath Iron Works for 35 years as a crane operator.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, his four devils and one angel.
He was predeceased by his wife, Louise May Merrill on Oct. 12, 1993; brother, Gerald Merrill; and sister, Diane Davis.
He is survived by sons, Michael L. Merrill and wife Annette of Warren, Harold E. Merrill and companion Faith Guilds of Woolwich, Donald D. Merrill of Woolwich and Timothy A. Merrill and companion Lori Ezzell of Wiscasset; daughter, Terri Lynn Streevey of West Bath; brother, Robert Merrill and wife Bonnie of Windham; sister, Elaine Grover of Wiscasset; grandchildren, Jessica Gatcomb, Joshua Streevey, Anthony Merrill, Ashlee Merrill, Naomie Merrill, and Heather Merrill; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., June 14 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. Funeral service 11 a.m., Fri., June 15 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grover Cemetery in Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Lloyd’s home on Rt. 1.
