
Loretta Mae Anderson, 53, of Waldoboro, passed away on Aug. 21 at the Sussman House with her family by her side. She was born on Jan. 15, 1963 in Rockland to Donald James Lank and Alice Stinson Lank.
Loretta grew up in St. George and as a young girl moved to Portland. She graduated from Deering High School in 1981.
After high school Loretta worked as a CNA at the Barron Center and the Jewish Home for the Aged. She also worked for Van Balen and Kno-Wal-Lin.
On her 19th birthday she married Russell Anderson. After her marriage she moved to Waldoboro and worked for Home Health Care and the Salvation Army.
Loretta loved sewing and was very crafty. She liked to go to dances and family get-togethers. She enjoyed bringing the family to church in their younger years. She looked forward to entertaining, especially during the holidays.
Loretta is predeceased by her parents; brother, Donald James Lank Jr.; and sister, Delores Spear.
She is survived by husband, Russell Anderson of Waldoboro; daughters, Lydia Anderson and partner Jon Bennett of Waldoboro, Lindsey Anderson of Augusta; grandsons, Jonathan Bennett Jr. of Waldoboro, and Rayvon Riley of Augusta; granddaughter, Lily Bennett of Waldoboro; sisters, Roseanne Wallace and husband Ike of Vinalhaven, and Nancy Leach and husband Sydney of Camden; uncle, Danny Collins and wife Rita of Waldoboro; aunt, Lavina Goodwin of Connecticut; close, life-long friend (40 years) Robin Stover of Anson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours for Loretta will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Tues., Aug. 30 with a service at 12 p.m. at the Ridge Church, 7 Church St., Tenants Harbor. A reception will follow.
