Louis Alphonso Boissonneault, 90, passed away Oct. 30 at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro.
Louis was born Dec. 16, 1915 in Eden, a son of Paul and Lucy Mae Miller Boissonneault.
He joined the U.S. Army on June 17, 1942, and served during WWII in India, cooking for Army officers. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 29, 1945, and moved back to Waldoboro. For many years he cooked at Stahl’s Tavern on Main Street in Waldoboro.
He was a member of the King Solomon’s Lodge #61 AF & AM, Kora Temple Shrine, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Portland.
His companion for over 50 years was Beverly Benner.
He was predeceased by his brother, Olego Boissonneault, and sister, Edith Wardwell.
Survivors include his nieces, Nancy Sanborn of Machias, and Shirley Bartok and husband Bill of Penobscot, who helped take care of him for the last few years.
Graveside service 1 p.m., Tues. Nov. 7 at Comery Cemetery in Waldoboro with the Rev. Robert Dorr officiating.
