Louis K. West Jr., 76, passed away Dec. 11 at Winship Green, Bath. He was born in Newcastle on Feb. 10, 1934, son of Louis and Marie (Madeline Roberts) West. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and served in the Korean War. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 6924, Fairfield. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, Louis and Marie Madeline West; wife, Cecile Bolduc West; son, Nick West; Nick’s mother, Josephine Hinds; and sister, Janet Kaufmann of Waldoboro.
He is survived by children, David K. West of Richmond, Shelley Merrill of Richmond, Pam West Teal of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Amy Babb, Aaron Merrill and Jacob West; great-grandchild, Hilary Babb; siblings, Robert West of Ontario, Canada and June Derosier of Waldoboro; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and roommate, Winifred Reed.

A private service and burial will be held in the spring at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
