Louise D. Jewett, 105, of Alna, died Aug. 24 at her residence.
She was born in Whitefield on Oct. 28, 1912, a daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Knight) Dunton.
In 1937 she married Allen K. Jewett at the Kings Mills Church in Whitefield. Louise traveled with Allen during his time in the military and returned to Alna in 1980. She was a school teacher in Kings Mills (Whitefield), Alna, Gardiner and Brunswick.
She was a member of the Bath Brunswick Retired Teachers Association, the First Congregational Church Wiscasset and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed flowers and planting around her home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allen K. Jewett on Nov. 27, 1993; brothers, Harold Dunton, and Everett Dunton; and sisters, Grace Marston, Georgia Foye and Effie Dunton.
She is survived by niece, Georgia Bailey of Berwick; many great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; great great-great-nieces and nephews; and her family member and caretaker, Carolyn A. Fairservice of Whitefield.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Fri., Sept. 7 at the First Congregational Church Wiscasset, UCC, 28 High St., Wiscasset. A gathering will follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be at 1 p.m., Tues., Sept. 11 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta.
