In earlier years, Louise traveled with her husband around the world, living in Panama for about six years before settling in Searsport.
Louise’s nursing career started in Florida, to California, and then to Gardiner. She spent a short time at an Augusta hospital before going to the Belfast Hospital and opening her own boarding home in Searsport in 1970.
After the death of her husband she moved to Belfast to retire. She lived there for 20 years. When Louise became ill, she moved to Oakland to be close to her daughter, Allie Dorr-Colson; soon the Alzheimer’s worsened so she moved to Glenridge orange unit.
Louise was predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Carl E. Dorr in 1985; three sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by a son, Clarence E. Dorr Jr. of Waterville; daughter, Allie M. Dorr-Colson and husband, a very close son-in-law, Gary E.
