Louise Fallon Humphrey, 93, of Sheepscot, died peacefully on the early afternoon of Dec. 2 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.
She was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Marion, Ill., a daughter of George and Ora Fallon.
Louise married Champ Humphrey in 1939 in a private ceremony in Herrin, Ill. They moved to St. Louis, Mo. shortly thereafter where Champ began a lifelong career with Gardiner Advertising. The couple had three children, all boys. Louise stayed home to care for the boys and was a great sport with a family of avid outdoorsmen. She and Champ moved to Sheepscot in 1969, following Champ’s retirement.
She was an avid golfer and bridge player, and as a good corporate wife, was a terrific partner in her husband’s career. She also enjoyed needlework and was an active gardener, with a special love for flowers.
Louise will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Stephen, James and Richard; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral 11 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 6 at the Sheepscot Community (lower) Church, King s Highway, Sheepscot. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Sheepscot Cemetery.
