Louise Winiferd Quattrocchi passed away peacefully on Oct. 27 with her family by her side.
Louise was born June 1, 1914 in Livermore Falls, the only child of Winnie and Jeff Cloutier. She attended Livermore Falls High School where she was active in many school clubs and sports, and lettered in basketball.
She married Samuel J. Quattrocchi at St. Rose de Lima Church in Jay on May 10, 1936. Louise and Sam raised four children and enjoyed living in Livermore Falls, Monroe Bridge, Mass., and Norristown, Penn. prior to moving to Canada in 1953. After the children were grown, they moved to South America, living in both Peru and Ecuador. Following retirement, they moved back to Louise’s childhood home in Livermore Falls in 1974. Although officially retired, Louise and Sam continued to travel to consulting assignments in many countries, including Trinidad and Thailand.
Louise always enjoyed music, playing the piano from sheet music and by ear. Her artistic talent was further demonstrated in a number of oil paintings she created which will continue to be treasured by family and friends. In addition, Louise will also be remembered for her optimistic outlook, sunny disposition, sharp mind and quick wit.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, Sam.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane (Mrs. Douglas J. Tigert) of Bremen and Laurel (Mrs. John F. Halper) of Athens, Ga.; sons, John (and wife Gayle) of Tsawwassen, BC, Canada and Larry (and wife Charlotte) of Bozeman, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the professional staff at Lincoln Home for the care and comfort they gave to Louise over the past year. They would also like to express their appreciation to the medical staff at Miles Memorial Hospital for the attention and concern with which they administered to the needs of both Louise and the family.
Memorial service will be held in Livermore Falls during the summer months of 2007. Finley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
