Lucille Dimock, 96, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at her home on March 3 with her loving family by her side.
She was born on July 15, 1916 in Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Allison and Lydia Shaw Colwell. She grew up and attended schools in Gouldsboro and Waldoboro and was the valedictorian of her graduating class of 1933 from Waldoboro High School.
After school she joined the work force. Her career included jobs at the Waldoboro Theatre, over 20 years working for Waldoboro Savings and Loan and finally as a bookkeeper at Harold C. Ralph Chevrolet until her retirement.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the VFW’s Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to bowl; whether it was at the bowling alley in the center of Waldoboro or at DePatsy’s Lanes, she always had fun.
She was a great cook and would love nothing more than to have her family at her house and cook them all a feast. She was a great baker, famous for her custard pies, whoopee pies, and cream puffs.
She was an avid sports fan and loved the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Dimock, in 1989; sisters, Allison Willey and Beatrice Cowley; and brothers-in-law, Alforest “Junior” Willey and Roger Cowley.
Survivors include her son, Gary Heald and wife Mary of Scotsdale, Ariz.; daughters, Yvette Brewer and husband Richard and Candace Herring and husband Rod of Linneus; daughter/niece, Cheryl Williamson; stepdaughter, Barbara Wotton; sister, Marjorie Martin of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Seth Heald and wife Maryanne, Richard Brewer Jr. and wife Jean, Scott Brewer and wife Alison, Cheryl Poland and husband Scott, Tarrie Wood, Jami Cass, Vicki Rawley, Coreen Ernest, Jean Anne Wotton Davis, James Wotton, and Theresa Benner; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Morgan, Lesley, Bethany, Brandon, Brittany, Marysa, Kylee, Brandon, Sydney, Maxwell, and Duncan; great-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, and Marcus; special friends, Neil and Cindy Shuman and children Mallorie, Wiliam, Joel and wife Stephanie, and Robin Hoyt.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
