Lura Beatrice Robertson, 81, formerly of Dresden, died Jan. 26 at the Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center in Winthrop. She was born in Bath on July 22, 1930, a daughter of Fraser and Rose (Pinkham) Haines.
Lura was an avid Red Sox, Celtics and NASCAR fan. She enjoyed local racing at the Wiscasset Raceway. She enjoyed her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved to garden. While at the Heritage Rehabilitation Center, she enjoyed going out to the facility’s garden.
Lura was predeceased by her husband Charles Robertson; son, Stanley John Robertson; and brothers, Jimmy and Ornie Haines.
She is survived by daughters, Louise Dutton of Dresden, Toni Currie and husband Fred of Scarborough, and Lori Miete of Damariscotta; sons, C. Mike Robertson and wife Pat of Winthrop, and Dennis Robertson of Brunswick; special grandson, Mickey Robertson of Dresden; brother, Joseph Haines and family of North Bath; 12 other grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours 2-4 p.m., Sun., Jan. 29 at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
A graveside service will be held this spring in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
