Madelene Mae Pierce, 66, of Brunswick, went to sleep in Christ following a chronic illness Jan. 9 at her home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Bath, the daughter of Juanita Richardson Gomes and Trueman Gomes.
She attended Phippsburg School and Morse High School in Bath.
Madelene was an active member of the Nazarene churches in Westpoint and Sebasco. She enjoyed singing hymns, writing, and attending prayer meetings.
She loved knitting, embroidery and puzzles. She was a faithful friend to many and will be sadly missed.
Madelene was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Charles Gomes, Truman Gomes, and Duane Gomes.
She is survived by sons, Arthur Pierce III and wife Marie of Sebasco, Owen Pierce and wife Rebekah of Lisbon, and Paul Pierce and wife Lorana of Phippsburg; grandchildren, Arthur Pierce IV of Sebasco, Amanda Pierce of Bath, Brandon and Joshua Pierce of Lisbon, and Alex and Kali Pierce of Phippsburg; brother, Eugene Gomes of Phippsburg; and sisters, Belinda and Carrie Gomes, also of Phippsburg.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tues., Feb. 10 at the Sebasco Nazarene Church, Sebasco Road, Phippsburg.
