Margaret Colby, 90, of Wiscasset, died Dec. 3 at her residence.
She was born in Staten Island, N.Y. on Aug. 27, 1922, a daughter of George E. II and Clara M. (Randolph) Weatherbee.
She attended New York schools and moved to Wiscasset as a young child. She attended Wiscasset schools and on Aug. 27, 1940 she married Perley R. Colby. She was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at local nursing homes and at Miles Memorial Hospital. She also did private care at various homes.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset.
She was predeceased by her husband, Perley R. Colby on Aug. 10, 1975; daughter, Patricia Ann Amirault; and brother, George E. Weatherbee III.
She is survived by son, Carroll R. Colby and wife Judith of Wiscasset; daughters, Elaine Moore and husband Harry of Wiscasset, and Linda Delano and husband Ted of Wiscasset; sister, Lillian Pereira of Cambridge, Mass.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-step-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Fri., Dec. 7 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. Funeral service 10 a.m., Sat., Dec. 8 at the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset. Burial will follow at Old Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Fellowship Hall.
