Margaret D. Short, 80, of Columbus, Ohio and summer resident of Pemaquid, died Oct. 23 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Newton High School, Newton, Mass., and Boston University Sargent College. She formerly worked as a physical therapist in Boston, Mass., Rochester, N.Y., and Baltimore, Md. Margaret was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Columbus, Ohio; former Board member and longtime member of League of Women Voters or Metropolitan Columbus; and former Board member and volunteer at Whetstone Care Center.
Margaret is survived by husband Rufus C. Short; son, Geoffrey Short and wife Kristin of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Laurel Beard and husband Michael of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Emily, Alex and Julia Beard; great-grandchildren, Anna, Amelia and Abraham.
Memorial service 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 31 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio, Rev. Richard Burnett officiating. Family will greet friends following the service.
