Margaret Eloise Plumley, affectionately known by all who loved her as “Plum”, 84, of Bristol, died June 12 at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Machias.
She was born Sept. 28, 1924 in Winchester, Mass., a daughter of the late Frank E. and Rhoda B. (Ober) Plumley.
Plum served her country honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1944 until 1948. She was a graduate of Boston University and Tufts School of Occupational Therapy. Over the years she was employed as the town clerk, treasurer and tax collector.
She is survived by her friend, Patricia E. Norris of New Harbor; three nephews, Frank Plumley and wife Gail of Grafton, Mass., William Plumley and wife Rebecca Reinhart of Windham, and Daniel Wueste of Fredericksburg, Va.; two nieces, Mary Wueste of Stoney Brook, N.Y., and Katy Wueste of Stoney Brook, N.Y.
Celebration of Plum’s life will be held in late September.
