Margaret Mack DeWitt, 92, passed away on the evening of June 5 at the Lincoln Home in Newcastle. Born on April 8, 1920 in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of Francis T. and Blanche P. Mack.
She was raised in Scarsdale, N.Y. and graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in biology. Margaret married Robert DeWitt in 1941 and raised her family in Akron, Ohio where her husband practiced obstetrics and gynecology.
Her passion was creating beautiful needlework, examples of which won numerous awards. She cherished time spent during her childhood and subsequently with her five children and 11 grandchildren at the family summer home in Bayville on Linekin Bay.
