Margaret Starrett Caler, 77, of Coopers Mills, passed away July 9 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills.
Margaret was born Nov. 3, 1928 in Rockland, a daughter of Ernest and Geneva Richards Starrett.
She attended Warren Elementary and Warren Academy. She worked hard all of her life and many times could be found working double shifts and weekends at various places. She retired from the Maine Journal Printing Company in Belfast.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with her basset hounds and beagles, and most of all, loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Ernest Starrett, Jr.; and sister, Ruby Starrett Sidelinger.
Survivors include her son, David E. Perry and wife Lois of Titusville, Fla.; daughter, Marilyn A. Hutchinson of Springvale; grandchildren, Vicki Murray and husband Scott of Waldoboro, and Sean D. Perry of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Shawna and Jacob Murray of Waldoboro; foster family, Irven Gammon and wife Hazel of Warren, Alton Gammon and wife Sandra of Warren, and Sadie Burr and husband Robert of Warren; special friends, Barbara Bowman of Waldoboro, and Betty Cogan of Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no services.
In memory of Margaret, memorial donations may be made to a humane society of one’s choice.
