Margery Estelle Hasson, 83, passed away peacefully on Feb. 13 after a prolonged illness. She was born in Wiscasset May 15, 1927 to George and Pearl Grover-Hilton. After attending school in Wiscasset, Margery married and eventually settled in Woolwich with her husband Malcolm Hasson, originally of Newcastle.
Marge was employed for many years at Larry’s Market in Woolwich and later on at Dutton’s Department Store in Wiscasset. She loved her work and she loved meeting people. Marge enjoyed going to the Wiscasset Senior Center and visiting with friends. Margery enjoyed camping, fishing and the occasional hunting trip with family in her earlier years and really loved to play Bingo and other card games throughout her entire life, frequently being known to be quite lucky!
Margery is predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Hasson; sister, Ruth Belanger; and grandson, Wayne Merrifield.
She is survived by her sisters, Marion Bailey of Woolwich and Rebecca Cunio of Florida; daughter, Patrica Kaler-Seidel of Pennsylvania; sons, Gordon Hasson of Florida and Gary Hasson of Woolwich; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
No service is planned at this time.
