Marguerite Ardella McIntyre, 84, of Cushing, died July 4 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills after a long illness.
Mrs. McIntyre was born March 28, 1924 in Rockland, the daughter of Willard D. and Alice E. Wilson Sanborn, and attended Rockland and Warren schools.
A resident of Thomaston and Cushing for most of her life, she met her husband Kenneth H. McIntyre when they were both working on a farm in Thomaston. They later married on Aug. 8, 1942.
She liked to watch soaps on TV, attend yard sales, bird watch from her window, was known for her good cooking, going for Sunday rides, especially to Peaslee s Farm in Jefferson to see the many different animals, attending family gatherings, and caring for her favorite pets, Smokey her cat and Pepsi her dog.
Her favorite holiday was Christmas, which she and her husband always seemed to make special for her family.
She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth, who died July 12, 1995; a daughter, Judith McIntyre; brothers, Floyd Sanborn, Maynard Sanborn and Donald Sanborn, and a sister Caroline Carter Dyer.
Survivors include four sons, James McIntyre and wife Mary of Waldoboro, Kenneth W. McIntyre and wife Lena of Rockland, Robert A. McIntyre and Richard S. McIntyre, both of Cushing; four daughters, Alice Feltis of Waldoboro, Deloris Moore and husband Ernest of Swanville, Patricia Fogg of Warren and Pamela Fogg and husband Guy of Cushing; two brothers, William Sanborn and wife Alice of Waldoboro and Herbert Sanborn and wife Marion of Thomaston; sister Doris Bredeau of Waldoboro; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Wed., July 9 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Celebration of Marguerite s life 11 a.m., Thurs., July 10. Interment will be in Brookland Cemetery, Waldoboro.
