Marion A. Carroll, 74, of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 15 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.
She was born in Gardiner on Nov. 1, 1931, a daughter of John F. and Iva Cullens Goodwin.
Marion was a registered nurse at Augusta Mental Health Institute, retiring after 23 years of service.
She was a 40-year member of St. Giles Episcopal Church and was very active in church activities: she served on the Vestry, was a member of the Altar Guild, member of the Episcopal Church Women, and building committee.
She enjoyed reading novels, traveling and thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bernard Carroll of Jefferson; daughter, Lyndia Gould and husband Eric of Jefferson; son, John Carroll and wife Dottie of Jefferson; brother, Otis S. Goodwin of Winchester, Va.; three grandchildren, Emily Gould, Joseph Gould and Kelly Crosen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service 1 p.m., Fri., Sept. 22 at St. Giles Episcopal Church in Jefferson.
