Marion A. Lewis, 83, of Boothbay, passed away on Dec. 4 at home after a long period of failing health.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1924 in Bohemia, N.Y., the daughter of Tom and Ida McGinnis Bartik. She attended Boothbay Central School.
She married Harlan Lewis on Nov. 29, 1941, and made their home in Boothbay, helping her husband operate his worm packaging business, and tending to her family.
Mrs. Lewis was known for her excellent cooking skills and she enjoyed making ceramics. Active in town, she was a member of the Misfires of the Boothbay Fire Department, the Boothbay VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Reed.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Harlan Lewis of Boothbay; sons, Wendell Lewis and wife Sheila of Boothbay, and David Lewis and wife Ann of Clovis, Cal.; daughters, Ruth Michaud and husband Bob of Naples, and Marie Andrews and husband Dennis of Boothbay; sisters, Norma Giles and husband Irving of Boothbay, and Helen Lewis of Boothbay; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 6 at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
Celebration of Marion’s life 11 a.m., Fri., Dec. 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Boothbay.
