Marion Berlind West, 73, passed away peacefully at home among her loving family on Oct. 18 after a protracted, death-defying battle against pancreatic cancer.
Marion was a point of light and inspiration to many people who loved her for her grace, her sense of humor, her generosity and her intellect.
A resident of Connecticut for many years, Marion and her husband fulfilled a lifelong dream and relocated to mid coast Maine 10 years ago. In recent years Marion worked as a tax professional for H&R Block in Newcastle.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John West of Waldoboro; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen West Grant and Barry Grant of Avon, Conn.; son, Bradley West of Rockport; son and daughter-in-law, Paul West and Genevieve West of Winchester, Conn.; sister, Anne Turner of Newburgh; dear friend, Amy Lindsey of Newburgh; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Leona Berlind of Chocorua, N.H., grandchildren, Kenyon and Greta Grant, and Seamus and Selena West; and loyal shepherd and steadfast companion, Katrina.
