Marjorie Louise Shephard, 88, of Bath, passed away Dec. 28, 2010 in Brunswick after a short illness.
Born Oct. 23, 1922 in Greenfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Harry and Mary (Goring) LeBaron. On Oct. 18, 1946, she married Frank Leslie Shephard of London, England. A resident of Wilbraham, Mass. for 35 years, and West Chesterfield, N.H. in retirement, Marjorie moved to Newcastle in 2008 to be closer to her daughter. She was a resident of Hill House, Inc. in Bath since September 2010.
She will be remembered for her “joie de vivre,” positive outlook, creativity, and abiding love of family.
Marjorie graduated from Greenfield High School and attended Northampton Commercial College. She worked at the Greenfield Tap & Die, and as a children’s librarian in the Wilbraham, Mass. school system.
She loved nature and birds, and spent many hours working in her flower gardens. A talented artist and watercolorist, Marjorie was a member of the League of NH Craftsman. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, making rugs and collecting antiques. Her friends and family gave her the most joy, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; and sisters, Elizabeth and Beatrice.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Shephard of Newcastle; grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Shephard-Lupo; a niece; and a nephew.
