Martha Jayne Crocker was born Feb. 6, 1942 in Boothbay to Cecil and Arlene (Brewer) McPhee. She died Jan. 5 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Martha grew up in Boothbay and graduated from Boothbay Regional High School.
She worked at the Tug Boat Inn as a cook and retired after 20 years in 1994. She was well known for her delicious cheesecake and cinnamon buns. There was no problem that couldn’t be fixed by Jayne’s cooking. She had a big heart and was very giving. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and her cats, especially Daisy.
She is survived by daughter, Melissa McMullen of Bath; son, George “Mickey” Crocker; brother, Nick McPhee of Boothbay; grandsons, Matthew of Portland, and Michael Devin McMullen and girlfriend Julia Liberman of Portland; granddaughter, Elizabeth Jayne McMullen and boyfriend Jake Wright of Gardiner; and nephews and niece, Jason, Adam, David, and Megan McPhee.
A celebration of Jayne’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
