Mary D. Hallinan, 77, of Boothbay Harbor, died Jan. 4 at Safe Haven, St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.
Mary was born in West Gardiner, the oldest daughter of Harris Delano and Beatrice Curtis. Mary graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School, Class of 1960, and Westbrook Junior College in Portland in 1962. She married Dennis R. Hallinan in 1962 and together they raised three sons and a daughter.
Mary was a bookkeeper and office manager for the family business Hallinan Construction of Boothbay Harbor. She enjoyed bird watching, knitting, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. She was a member of the Boothbay Harbor Congregational Church and Boothbay Region Community Band.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis R. Hallman; sons, Richard and wife Lisa, Joel Hallinan, and Erin Hallinan; daughter, Jennifer Marceline and her husband Charlie; sisters, Carol and husband David Younts of Boothbay Harbor, and Alice and husband Fred Driffmeyer of Centerville, Mass.; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and very special friends, David and Judy Eastwood, Barbara Wilson, and Theresa Bryer.
She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Sarah.

A private service will be held in the spring for family and close friends.
