Mary E. McGuire, 81, of Whitefield, passed away on the evening of April 29 at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta. The daughter of Herbert & Marguerite (Ingalls) Collins, she was born in Belfast, Oct. 24, 1924. For many years, Mary lived in Rockland, where her husband was a teacher at Rockland High School. She later relocated to Portland with her family. She was a passionate sports fan and especially loved professional baseball and basketball, rarely missing a game whether televised or live. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. McGuire, in 1990. Mary leaves her loving sons, Michael McGuire and wife Eileen of Whitefield, and Robert McGuire and wife Pam of Lisbon; three grandchildren, Tracy Cloutier and husband Ryan of Corinna, Logan and Dillion McGuire of Lisbon; and three great grandchildren Jacob, Jessica and Joseph Cloutier. She will be laid to rest with her husband John, with a private family service in Belfast. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
