Mary Langdon (Browne) Charbonneau, 79, born March 26, 1934 in New York, N.Y., passed away on Dec. 14 in Damariscotta.
Mary was well known by her friends and family for her exquisite dinner parties, and skillfully knit sweaters and hats. She enjoyed painting watercolors and participating in Transcendental Meditation.
As a youth, Mary lived in New Canaan, Conn., and attended New Canaan Country School. She later studied at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She summered at the Hendrick’s Head Lighthouse on Southport Island until 1991.
Mary leaves behind her husband, Gilbert Charbonneau of Damariscotta; sister-in-law, Frances Ann Browne of Boothbay; nephews, Clifford Browne of Ridgefield, Conn., Thomas Browne of New Milford, Conn., and Jeffrey Browne of Boothbay; and many wonderful friends and caregivers, in her local community and at Cove’s Edge, who gave her tremendous love and support.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The exact details, day and time will be announced as soon as arrangements are finalized.
