Mary Lillian Bean, 67, of Damariscotta, passed away on the morning of Nov. 11 at Maine Medical Center with loved ones at her side. She had been battling heart disease courageously for many years.
She was born on July 12, 1944 in Damariscotta, and would live her entire life here in Maine. Although she became a homebody as the years passed, she would never turn down a road trip to Bangor. Anyone who knew Mary would agree that she would give you the shirt off her back.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She also enjoyed listening to country music, a cup of warm tea, and loved to gamble.
She was predeceased by her mother, Laura DeRoche; father; older sisters, Betty and Catherine; and special friend, Warren Brann.
She is survived by her children, Lori Beote-Bill of Washington state; Benjamin Beote of Gardiner, William Beote of Buckfield, Thomas Beote of Damariscotta and Laura Wise of Nebraska; sisters, Sandra Griffin of Bristol and Gloria Hines of Texas; brothers, Marshall Beote of California and John Beote of Florida; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Time of visitation 5-7 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 17 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
