Mary Rose Douglas Torpacka, 82, of West Rockport, died peacefully the morning of Nov. 25 at the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Rockland, a daughter of the late Charles and Francis L. (Fish) Fogg.
Mrs. Torpacka attended school in Warren. She retired as postmaster in West Rockport after 22 years. She also worked at Renys in Camden. Mrs. Torpacka enjoyed lawnsaling and shopping on QVC.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, George Douglas; second husband, Maurice Torpacka; and brothers, Stanley, Donald, Gilbert, Frank and Bill Fogg.
Mrs. Torpacka is survived by her son, Timothy Douglas and wife Carmen of Warren; daughter, Cheryl York of Rockland; granddaughters, Heather Russeu and husband Keith of Rockport, and Crystal Priestley and husband Kurt of Belmont; grandsons, Jeremy York of Rockland, Brian York and wife Amanda of Auburn, and Corey York of Rockland; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ethan and Bella; and brothers, Charles Fogg and wife Rosalie of West Rockport, and Wilbur Fogg and wife Patty of West Rockport.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service to celebrate her life 10 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 8 in the West Rockport Cemetery. The Rev. Walden Chandler will officiate.
