Mary S. Kimball, 87, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully the morning of May 18 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Facility in Damariscotta. She was born in Concord, Mass. on July 21, 1921.
Mary was happily married for 38 years to Richard Kimball, losing him to cancer in 1984. They raised their children in North Andover, Mass., spending summers at a family cottage on Southport Island. For the last several years Mary has lived with her daughter and grandchildren in Whitefield and Jefferson.
She was active in her church groups and greatly enjoyed reading and knitting.
Mary was predeceased by her husband and a grandchild, Schuyler Schmall.
Mary is survived by her children, Debby Orff of Waldoboro, Carolyn Schmall of Travers City, Mich., Jimmy Kimball of Roanoke, Va., and Richard Kimball of California; grandchildren, Daniel and Meghan Orff, Joshua, Justin and Lisa Kimball, and Damien Pepin; and several great-grandchildren.
At Mary’s request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 7, Edgecomb, ME 04556.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
