Matthew D.H. Simpson, 37, of Warren, died unexpectedly on Feb. 7.
Matthew was born in Stamford, Conn. on April 14, 1971. He was the son of Peter and Marcy Paterson Simpson of Warren, and the brother of Brooke Harris of Wilson, N.Y. For many years Matthew lived in Boulder, Col.
Matthew graduated from North Kingstown High School in Rhode Island and attended The University of Colorado in Boulder.
Matthew took great pride in his profession as an arborist and loved watching things grow; from chicks in the springtime to towering pines. He was happiest in his uniform, a sawdust covered Carhardt suit, coffee cup in hand, using his talent and wit to meet the challenge of any tree job. He liked to say it was all about “grace and power”.
Matthew’s talents and interests included drawing, sculpting, music, history and a lively debate about almost anything! There wasn’t a movie he hadn’t seen and he was always ready to give his opinion.
Matthew’s patience and ability to listen helped him to form a wide network of very close friends over his short lifetime. He was known for his integrity and commitment to his strict principles. He worked and had many friends in Lincoln County.
Memorial service will be held in the spring. Please contact marcysimpson@roadrunner.com for more information.
